In 1905 Christian Dior was born in the town of Grenville on the French coast and when he was 5 years old, his family moved to Paris. From 1923 to 1927 he was studying and in 1927 he did his compulsory military service. In 1928 Dior and his friend Jacques Bonjean opened an art gallery on rue de la Boetie
