The history of jeans stretches way back
One of the oldest pairs of jeans was unearthed in 1998 from a pile of miners' trash. Levi Strauss & Co. bought the more than 100-year-old garment at auction three years later for $46,532.
Author Alice Harris begins her book, "The Blue Jean" (PowerHouse Books, 2002), by recounting the story and goes on to chronicle the history of jeans, the working man's pants that went from representing the height of proletariat utility to the height of bourgeois fashion.

Male fashion through the ages
A NEW exhibit located just steps from the catwalks where next spring's collections are on display during New York's Fashion Week gives lie to the common belief that fashion is feminine.
Tracing some 2,000 years worth of male clothing, 'A Rakish History of Men's Wear' at The New York Public Library reaches as far back as the idealised depictions of Greek warriors and all the way forward to the modern metrosexual with his designer suits, face creams and men's fashion magazines.

Hairstyles and Cosmetics in Ancient Greece
During the classical period women wore their hair long except when they were in mourning during which they cut their hair short. Slaves wore short hair. Before the 5th century women's hair was allowed to fall over the shoulders and back. It was often fastened by a headband or diadem. Later hair was often restrained. After the fifth Century BCE there were a number of possibilities including buns, headbands, scarfs, and hair covers. During hellenistic times the hair was artificially waved and curled.

History of Earrings
Earrings are worn worldwide in most cultures today, and have been a favorite decorative jewelry accessory throughout history. Universally loved for their uncanny ability to enhance and draw attention to one's facial features, particularly the eyes and hairstyle, earrings also add grace, charm, color, and pizzazz to any fashionable ensemble. Whether it's sparkling Swarovski crystals or semi-precious and precious gemstones embedded in lustrous gleaming Mexican silver or the finest gold, or chunky geometric cubes and glorious spheres of precious metals strung in dramatic dangling configurations, earrings definitely make one of the most significant statements of all jewelry.

While the bags are trendy fashion accessories in some parts of the world, the phrase has particular resonance in Peru.
