    Make sense of scents
You squiggle in your seat, trying to lean as far as possible in the opposite direction from the woman sitting next to you. It doesn't work. You hold up the program, creating a physical barrier.

Emporio Armanis new fragrance advertisment featuring Beyonce
The new advertisement is out. As we reported back in May, Beyonce signed with Armani to be be the face of their newest fragrance, Emporio Armani's Diamonds. If you all thought that ad campaign would be limited to black and white photoshoots (a la Lindsay Lohan for Jill Stuart) and easy breezy footage of B running in slow motion down a beach, you're mistaken. Armani's too smart to let this one slip through its fingers - not only does Beyonce perform a feisty new rendition of Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend, but the video's all over YouTube, legally. Enjoy!

There's a fine line between sexpot and sex pest and Tom Ford seems to have made a career out of it. Tom Ford for Men, his latest fragrance was launched with an ad campaign shot by uber perve Terry Richardson and if you thought it couldn't get any more risqué that a G shaved into pubic hair think again. Sexy scents for him and her
Growing up as a ’80s, I had delusions of growing up vampy or vixen-ish even then, hence my attraction to fragrances labeled as sexy.

It puzzled me, though, why those synthetic or intense floral oriental scents that were marketed as sexy, and bought by the basket by women, turned grown men off or made them sneeze.

    Smells rich
There’s a brilliant bit in Woody Allen’s 1980 classic Stardust Memories, where the neurotic director nuzzles up to Charlotte Rampling. “Mmm, you smell nice,” La Rampling says seductively. “That aftershave. It just made my whole childhood come back with a sudden Proustian rush.”

    Do celeb perfumes really sell?
The perfume and cologne game does seem rather stymying. If Derek Jeter had so much involvement in his new scent, as his partners at Avon have trumpeted, why doesn't it smell like tobacky chaw and the sweet, sweet sentimentality of wistful sports commentators in checked jackets? Instead, I am told, Jeter's scent, Driven, involves black pepper, coriander and iced grapefruit. (Not room-temperature grapefruit, as that would be WAY not sexy.)

Hugo XY and Hugo XX are the first perfumes for both men and women, respectively, and are fronted by actor Jonathan Rhys Meyer and model Bette Franke.

When worn together, they create a perfect match, the woody floral bouquet of Hugo XX and the aromatic green accords of Hugo XY complementing each other.

    Fragrance Allergies: A Sensory Assault
Do any of these scenarios sound familiar?

    * You catch a whiff of a co-worker's new fragrance, and within minutes, you have a whopper of a headache.
    * You pop open that new bottle of dish-washing liquid, and by the time you've washed the pots and pans, your hands and arms are covered in hives.

    The scent of a man
Colognes, eau de parfum, eau de toilette, after-shave, perfume, sprays… a few things that can be easily found in a man’s wardrobe. Please note that we are not just talking about the metrosexuals here. We are talking about the average urban male who is not just conscious about the way he looks, but also about the way he smells. “There are a lot of grooming products for men in the market today. And perfumes are an indispensable part of grooming. Today, men are expected to be better groomed… and why not… they have all the right to be,” Yatan Ahluwalia of Y&E Style Media says emphatically. Not many would opt to disagree with him — it is definitely a feel-good factor that men want for their own selves.

    Versace Pour Homme
Versace is going to introduce a new cologne called Versace Pour Homme, inspired by a return to Mediterranean roots and Donatella Versace's father. He loved to wear neroli and the scent features this note. Interestingly, Versace is promoting this time a minimalist approach to perfume composition thinking that too many fragrances in the market are too ornamented and made with too many notes. Versace wanted its scent to smell simple and strong....
